On March 8, 2022, the Huberty & Breyne gallery, in its space at 4 rue de Miromesnil, in Paris, will host the presentation of the Artémisia prize.
The Artémisia Prize is awarded each year to a comic book produced by one or more women.
The winners of this year's prize are : Arianna Melone (Grand Prix Artémisia for Gianna), Emmi Valve (Special Prize for La Grace), Coco (Testimony Prize for Dessiner encore), Virginie Ollagnier and Carole Maurel (Investigation Prize for Nellie Bly), Aurélie Lévy and Élisabeth Colomba (Biopic Prize for Queenie, the godmother of Harlem) and Elene Usdin (Graphic Revelation Prize for René - e aux bois dormants)
The jury is composed of Chantal Montellier (comic artist and co-founder of the Prize), Isabelle Beaumenay-Chaland (artistic director of the "Rencontres Chaland"), Julie Scheibling (history-geography teacher), Gilles Ciment (film and comic book theorist, former director of the Cité internationale de la bande dessinée et de l'image), Patrick Gaumer (writer, journalist, author of the World Comic Book Dictionary published by Larousse) and Pascal Guichard (artistic director and graphic designer).
Laurent Gervereau (visual artist, writer, director of the Musée du vivant, President of the Institut des images) is the Honorary President of this edition, while Gilles Ratier (writer, journalist, author of the annual report on the economic and editorial situation of the comic strip, editor-in-chief of bdzoom.com) is the Patron of the Awards.
The ceremony, open to the public, will take place from 5pm to 8.30pm.
The authors will sign their books before the award ceremony.
